December 20th, 2016
As we celebrate the birth of our Lord and saviour Jesus Christ and close out anothe calendar year, I would like to say thank you to our Board of Directors, HAA and OLPH families for all that you have contributed to this wonderful Academy.
What a privilege it has been serving you as principal of OLPH. We hear the message every day of "peace and good will" to one and all, during this Christmas season. Hopefully this message is just a reminder of our faith, and what should be a way of life. I hope that we will be able to be inspired to live out the meaning of Christmas throughout 2017.
May I take this opportunity to wish you a holy and happy Christmas followed by a New Year filled with promise and contentment. God Bless you all.
Mrs. Margaret Tyndall (Principal)
Welcome to OLPH Catholic Academy of Brooklyn.
September 07th, 2016
It is with great enthusiasm that I write this letter to you, the parents of OLPH Catholic Academy of Brooklyn. I am thrilled to be the new principal of this institution of learning. As many of you know, I am no stranger to this school. I have been the 8th grade teacher for the past 10 years and have taught many of your children throughout the years.
I have earned several degrees, one in Business administration, a Bachelor of Science in Elementary education and a Master’s of Science in Special Education. I have been teaching for over 20 years, and had the pleasure of teaching from Kindergarten to the eighth grade. Although successful in my career as a middle school teacher, I am now seeking to combine my school leadership experience with my passion for administration.
This school year will be filled with new opportunities for our students to excel; we will be introducing a new STEM pilot program for junior high students, which was implemented by Mr. Martorelli that will allow our students to advance in math, science, engineering and technology. We will also be extending Spanish to the lower grades, which will be an asset for our students. I am excited with the advancements we are making, and I can’t wait to begin the new school year.
My goals this year is to make learning a top priority, creating an environment where children can grow physically, emotionally and spiritually. It is very important that we lead and guide our children into a higher level of achievement. I am looking forward to working with each of you to make this a reality. Remember it takes a village to raise a child. It will take all of us working hand in hand to succeed in this endeavor. May God bless you all and I hope to see you in September.
Yours in Christ,
Mrs. Margaret Tyndall
